My, we are a quiet group . . . are we still a group?
So this is it? 6 days into the New Year and all we have is a ping from
Wayne ending with the now traditional, but still embarrassing, AOL added
pimp-line. No offensive, Wayne, but scheesch . . .
OK, so let's do something productive:
1. Proof of Life Request. If you are alive, please at least click your
Reply button - we'll figure out how you are. Let's see how many of us made
it into 2008. Even you guys who simply lurked for the past year. Pay up,
just once, then you can go back to your busy schedules and more productive
activities.
2. Actually on topic: the link is to a wrecked but still odd Watson camera
that I have with both wood AND brass. A weird front focus side-panel
camera. You normally see these as rear-focus tail-boards. Has anyone seen
this design before? No is sufficient, but "yes" is not. Details.

3. For those of you who must use AOL, here is a simple procedure (found
online, of course) that might spare the rest of us that ridiculous signature
line (yes, I am in a ratty mood; please no get-well cards, it'll pass - or
not). I don't know if it works, but it can't be any worse:
1. Click on the "Write" email icon.
2. Youll see a "Signatures" button and select "Set Up Signatures."
3. Create a signature with 50 or so lines that contain just a blank space.
(Or Edit your existing signature and add the blanks to the end of it.)
Youll need at least one blank space in each line or the trick won't work.
4. AOL will continue to put their advertisement at the end of your Email,
but your recipients will have to scroll way down to the end if they want to
see it.
Grumble,
mz
