Hello group,
I am not normally concerned with anything that has a leather covering, but am wondering if I should buy a "Satchel type" Folding Kodak Camera (as described on p. 494 of the 12th edition of McKeown) which I have found in a local antiques centre.
According to McK., these come in three sizes, the No.4 for 4x5" negs., the No. 5 for 5x7" negs., and the No. 6 for 6&1/2 x 8&1/2" negs.
But, according to my tape measure, and measuring the slides in with the camera, the one I have found takes plates with the negative size 4&1/2 x 6&1/2", and apparently roll-film too. So what's going on? Have I found a "one off", and should I buy it or not? And what should I expect to pay for it if I do? It's not in the book.
I know nothing about Kodak or about American cameras in general, so some help from a Kodak specialist, or from anyone else, for that matter, would be appreciated.
(BTW, some posts and replies I have sent lately have not appeared, on my screen at least, so if anyone is feeling unloved or unappreciated, it isn't that I haven't tried...........).
Best to all,
Eric.
