Milan,

Your Sinclair magnifier is most likely from the 1930's.  Sinclair made 
at least two similar looking (but different) magnifiers, and yours is 
the latter of the two.  The earlier one from the 20's, called the 
"'Magnofoc' Focussing Magnifier x 12"  was 5½" long and didn't have the 
adjustment slot and knob in the barrel.  The later version from the 
30's, which matches your photo, is 6½" long and was called "The 
'Sinclair' High Power Focussing Magnifier X.4."
