In my real life, I am the CFO of a company that provides Assisted Living for
people with Alzheimer's or related dementia. My company also has a
non-profit Foundation organization that, among other things, started an exciting
program called Artists For Alzheimer's. Artists essentially support research in
Alzheimer Care by donating time or goods to the program.
You can read about Artists for Alzheimer's here:

One of the great programs this organization did, was to have our residents
who have Alzheimer's, paint and draw...long story short...the Museum of Modern
Art in NYC has picked up this program and this has been featured on World
News Tonight. See here:

Now, we would like to do the same type of program but with photography. The
goal is to put easy-to-use digital cameras into the hands of our residents
who have Alzheimer's and let them take photos at their will, and see the art
they create.
THATS WHERE YOU COME IN.
I am looking for donations to this project in the form of gently used,
easy-to-use digital cameras. I know most of you have an old 2 or 3 megapixel
camera gathering dust... how about donating it to this project ? I could also
use memory cards of all types to fit these cameras.
And because it would be a donation to a 501(c)3 Non-profit organization,
this should be tax deductible for you. The Foundation will provide you with a
written receipt of your donation, but you provide your own value to your
donation per IRS regulations ( publication 561 ).
So, my wish list is for some fairly late model digi cameras in the 2 to 4
megapixel region, memory cards and whatever you may want to donate to this
endeavor.
Thanks

PS - David - I'd like to send this message to the IDCC as well, but wanted
to get clearance first. Please let me know.
