I thought my sharing of a rarely seen document may sponsor some of the
couch potatoes on this list to get active. Its really is a shame we
dont, as a group, share more.

Did anyone see the 4x5 Blair Utility Camera Larry bought on ebay ? Very
unusual construction features...

Maybe 2 people on this list, maybe 3 in the world have Tourographs . . .
so what is there for us to say aside from 'wish I had one?'

Notice that there's not much talk about early American dag cameras,
Martens panoramics, Ross/Sutton Ball lenses, etc., either . . . although
I wish I had one.

Now ducks on the other hand, while admittedly rarely ever on topic, are
surprisingly thought-provoking . . . I, for one, recently ordered and
prepared a couple of ducks, and it never dawned on me to ask the market
to hold the unplucked wings for me. A missed opportunity. Who would
have thought that there were W&B uses?

And perhaps there may be something in these vaguely off-topic issues
that will stimulate at least a few of the other 50 of us that we NEVER
hear from (hint) - perhaps commenting on their own near-duck
experiences. Certainly we have all experienced more ducks than we have
Tourographs.

Or perhaps we might institute a user participation poll as part of our
membership protocols - proof of life - requiring members to hit the
Reply key once a year to stay active, a sort of opt-in. For all we
know, there might only be the 10 of us, and other 80% have moved on to
better things.

All-in-all, I'd much rather heard something from any of us, than nothing
at all from most.

Cheers,

mz

name." Stephen Maturin to Jack Aubrey in "The Commodore"
