Rob,

In English, your lens would have been called the Antiplanatic Group lens, which Steinheil received
two American patents for (#241437 and 2741438).  I haven't looked them up, so you can have the fun
and tell us what they say.

In my 1887 Scovill catalog, your lens (the American equivalent) would have been the No. 3, which had
an aperture of 1&5/16" (33mm).  The focal length was 7&1/4".  It could cover 4x5 for portraits and
groups (primarily used wide open) - and 5x7 for landscapes (stopped down).  It cost $37.00 in 1887.
