John;
The actions of neither party are strange or unusual, so just forget about it! You made a slip up in email, and that's become acceptable. The seller may have taken offence at some statements, but that is also to be expected. If you want the airplane, go after it. Unless the owner is a professional salesman, he doesn't know to disregard your email to a friend and push his wares. Probably thinking you don't want it so doesn't want to spend any time with tire kickers. If you miss it, you miss it, you can always spend your money elsewhere. Personally speaking, those that say the price is too high have neither bought nor sold one lately. Debs aren't around for $65K.
