You guys are funny. I'm 6'2" and I fly the shortest Mooney, a full 22"
shorter cabin than the current models. I don't even use the last stop
in the seat track. I use mine like a lot of business people
would...solo or with one pax. The Mooney has more hip room than the
Beech airframe. I've carried a 6'4" CFI with me with no problem. Yes,
it is a bit more difficult to get into the seat. I don't hear anyone
complaining about Corvette space, I even see Beech owners drive
them...I can't fit in one..not enough leg room to operate the pedals.
The Lancair is a true 2 seater with minimal baggage area, and doesn't
meet type certification requirements for things like stall speed. The
Ovation gives you the choice of carrying 4 and baggage and less fuel,
or 2 folks and baggage going non-stop for more than 1200nm.

While it takes ROP to get a 30kt advantage with the Acclaim, you're
still at 20kts LOP, and yes, LOP is approved in the POH.
Oh, I won't mention for the CSOB airline pilots that it is
significantly less money than a G36 with TAT mods. But if you need
the room and carry a big load..you have to have the Beech, so you pays
your money and makes your choices. Beech makes a fine aircraft that
certainly has price (oops, make that pride) of ownership. ;-p
